Carysfort Reef, named after the HMS Carysfort which ran aground there in 1770, is notorious for being one of the most perilous sections of the Florida Reef tract. Despite its reputation, it's a hidden gem as it's often overlooked by dive boats due to its distance. However, divers brave enough to venture there are rewarded with a magnificent reef. The dive starts at around 15 feet and descends to depths of around 80 feet, offering a diverse and captivating underwater landscape.
